On our way back our guide told us story about some Chinese woman that was traveling to Kutching to see doctor. She was sick and was paralyzed. In the middle of their journey they had to stop. Nothing was around except jungles and suddenly she saw holy Marry in the skies. After that she was cured and started to walk again. She was so thankful that she build church. This church for all religions even thought there is Christ on the top.

Head Hunters

Before we cam to Borneo we read a lot of stories about headhunters and we couldn’t leave Borneo without asking if it is true that people in this area used to collect heads. The more head person had the higher was his status in the society. We were shocked when our guide told us that it’s true and he knows someone who still has heads in his house. Before we visited longhouse we stopped by his house, Unfortunately he wasn’t home. Our guide spoke with his wife and she said that on our way back he will wait for us.
Were returning to our resort when our guide decided to stop by his house again. He wasn’t home but his wife agreed to show us skull. For only $10 per person she agreed to do the ceremony to take heads out.

Finally we are in the longhouse. People lived like that for hundreds of years. You can't enter long house from back. It's bad luck even though there is a door. The only way people enter house from front door. If you don't live in the house you have to ask permission to enter and after that you have to sit down in the special place and wait for the Chief of the long house.

Next day we had to on Longhouse Adventure. To get to that region is about 5 hours drive. Hotel is on the boarder with Indonesia.

Arriving to Borneo

After three days in Phuket we had to leave. Our next destination - Malaysia. "Longhouse Adventure" - Kuching- Borneo
To be honest we had no idea where we are going the only references that we had about Borneo from Jack London and it was about cannibals that live there. We were flying through QLO and when we hot on the plain to Kuching we were the only Europeans there. Kuching airport was small and we saw our names on the poster right after we got our luggage. In the car we asked our guide how safe to walk by our self. He started to laugh. It is not New York my friend. We don’t have crime. After check into the hotel we decided to take a walk. Our hotel was next to the river. Hundreds of people were walking around. Some people were sitting in the small coffee shops drinking coffee. Suddenly we heard sound of the guitar. We were very suppressed when we saw girl about 18-19 years old that was reading poems and his friend was playing guitar. Unfortunately we didn’t understand what she was reading because it was Malay.
